lemlem Foundation, lemlem’s philanthropic arm, is a non-profit organization with the mission to help women artisans in Africa thrive by connecting them to healthcare, education and pathways to jobs. Five percent of lemlem’s direct sales, proceeds from special collaborations, and donations advance this mission.
We partner with leading African non-profit organization, Amref Health Africa, supporting midwife training and health outreach services in communities where lemlem is produced.
Amref Health Africa is working to reduce maternal deaths by 25% in six countries by training 15,000 new midwives as part of its ‘Stand Up for African Mothers’ campaign.

We work with social enterprises to design and support training initiatives that help women artisans in Ethiopia and Kenya build skills and prepare for jobs in Africa’s growing textile and fashion industries.
In Ethiopia, our first Artisan Training Initiative workshop - launched in partnership with Muya Ethiopia this Spring and generously funded by Swarovski Foundation - is training women weavers in artisanal techniques, leadership and life skills, and placing them in jobs.
